Right out of the 20’s… There was a raid on a gambling ring [yesterday] on St Mark’s. Twelve guys jumped into our garden and ran though the kitchen, scared the porter half to death and ran out the front door. Nobody got hurt but a broken fence, two broken picnic tables and benches. One guy actually had the balls to come back and ask the porter for his glasses he dropped in the garden… The audacity!
