NEast Village, Manhattan
You may have noticed this before, but the folks at Foot Gear Plus (131 1st Ave at the corner of St. Mark’s) often leave shoes out on the mailbox for the homeless.
Owner Tony Scifo: “The shoes are used, but typically in good condition. Why throw them away?”
Foot Gear Plus has been family owned and operated in the heart of the East Village since 1981.
They also own Village Kids Footwear down the block.
