NEast Village, Manhattan
Never miss a package delivery again with New York’s newest service

New York, New York – September 12, 2011 – Tired of trekking to the far reaches of Queens to retrieve missed mail from Fedex and UPS? Longtime East Village residents JR Yujuico and Adham Zaki came up with a simple solution. Village Doorman, launched this month in Manhattan, lets you send your mail to partner stores in your neighborhood. When the package is delivered to the location, you receive email, text and voice notifications that your package is ready for pickup.

“We built Village Doorman because we experienced this problem ourselves on countless occasions. So much time is wasted waiting for and running after delivery guys. With our service, you can pick up your mail at your convenience and it only costs $4 per package,” says JR Yujuico, Village Doorman’s co-founder.

On VillageDoorman.com, each customer receives a unique identification number associated with the package. When shopping online, customers input this ID number along with the address of the Village Doorman partner store where they want their package shipped. When the mail arrives at the location, the customer is alerted immediately and can pick up the packages at his convenience.

How it works

Village Doorman will continue to add locations across New York City in the coming months. Currently, it has 17 locations in the East and West Villages and the Lower East Side. Partners include salons, independent clothing stores, laundromats and 24-hour delis.
